    Are you an organized multi-tasker that strives to get things done?  If so, we may have the job you are looking for!  General Dynamics Information Technology is currently looking for a Human Resource Assistant in Lawrence, KS!  This candidate will support the HR Shared Services Team, performing a variety of clerical and administrative tasks on the phone, via email, and in support of the 2018 Call Center Ramp season. 


    This is a Full-time Temporary Assignment with an end date of November 30, 2018. 

    Schedule will be evenings Tuesday-Saturday.

    Overtime and weekend hours will be required based on business needs in this position. 

    • Processes, manages and updates all Background check actions using our applicant tracking system
    • Responsible for initiating and monitoring background checks and adhering to a tight schedule for processing candidates
    • Professional communication and conduct especially when speaking to candidates about sensitive matters
    • Ensures all pre-employment paperwork is completed before submitting record for onboarding
    • As needed, coordinates candidate follow-up actions with the local HR and Recruiting staff
    • Maintains a positive, respectful, and caring attitude with all candidates
    • Maintains and updates Excel spreadsheets on SharePoint site
    • Processes personnel actions in PeopleSoft, iCIMS, or other software applications and prepares required documentation
    • Review records within iCIMS and prepare for onboarding from iCIMS to PeopleSoft. Types of actions include New Hire, Rehire and Position Transfers
    • Review, audit and process incoming HR actions via Personnel Action Notice (PAN) forms into PeopleSoft
    • Participates in audits to ensure accuracy and quality of work
    • Maintains a high degree of accuracy and organization to minimize errors
    • Assists Teammates with their workloads and acts as a team player
    • Ability to prioritize workloads
    • Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
    • Willingness to learn and be crossed trained in support of the full employee life cycle
    • Ability to pick up new technologies and processes quickly
    • Adapts to a changing environment
    • Performs clerical tasks such as copying, faxing, filing, word processing, and data entry
    • Attends team meetings to share progress
    • Consistent Attendance and punctuality required
    • Other duties as assigned


    • Requires a High School Diploma or GED


    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Computer skills using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
    • 0-1 years of related administrative experience
    • Ability to handle heavy volume of background checks
    • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative to get things done
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with diverse work groups
    • Experience handling confidential information


    Working Conditions:


    The work is typically performed in an office environment; which requires proper safety and security precautions. To ensure our contact center production area is at minimal risk for unauthorized disclosure (that is, the release or divulgence of information by an entity to persons or organizations outside of that entity) of Personally Identifiable Information (PII) or Title 13 data; the work environment operates under a Secure Floor Policy. The Secure Floor Policy limits or restricts personal belongings, electronic devices, or paper that can be brought into production areas.
